The Whale Garden playground in D.Park is an exciting and inspiring play space with immense play value for children. Modeled after a real-life blue whale, the wooden play space is made with sustainable materials and is inclusively designed. There are multiple entryways and encourages children to use their imagination and challenges them physically as they figure out how to get to the top of the whale. Together with the giraffe play equipment and clownfish climber, this environment creates an opportunity for children to carry out creative role-plays and to live out their fantasies. Furthermore, combining music and nature has proven to have a powerful effect on our physical, mental, and emotional health. When banging on the drum circle together, children and families can create a variety of complementary rhythms together and build social connections within the community.
This fascinating playground won the iF Design Award in 2017 and German Design Award in 2018.
